At Taigum State School we deliver a whole school approach to the way we teach (pedagogy) that is flexible, responsive and engages a number of the most effective ways of teaching to maximise student achievement, engagement and well-being.
Our school staff are dedicated professionals, who develop a sequence of teaching and learning through considered unit plans. Teachers use student learning data to inform their planning, teaching and assessment of the Australian Curriculum. Teachers measure student improvement against individual / group targets, school targets and system measures.
At Taigum States School we teach the Australian Curriculum through the eight key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Languages and the Arts.
Students receive a Report Card each semester (June and December), which details their learning progress, effort and attendance for the semester.
Parents/ carers are encouraged to attend parent / teacher interviews in March and September, or as required throughout the year. At this meeting we discuss your child’s learning success, challenges and set learning goals for the future.
